On the second day, there will be a visit to Petra. The ancient city of Petra is one of Jordan’s national treasures and undoubtedly its most well-known tourist attraction. Petra is the legacy of the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Admired at the time for its refined culture, impressive architecture, and ingenious complex of dams and water channels.

Petra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Inhabited by Nabataeans, Edomites, and Romans, Petra brought together the knowledge and skills of these civilizations to create this wonder of the world. (Al-Khazneh), Petra’s most iconic landmark. The trail continues beyond the Treasury, passing the Royal Tombs, the Colonnaded Street, and eventually concluding at Caravans laden with incense, silks, spices, and other exotic goods that once rested in Petra.

Trail from al-Siq to the Treasury (main trail)

This trail is the most visited in Petra; the trail begins from the Petra Visitor Center, through the Siq to the Treasury. While most tourists believe that
the trail ends at the main attraction of the ancient city, The Treasury, it continues through this impressive desert, where you will experience the serene beauty of the vast expanse and enjoy unmatched sunset views. As the sun sets on the horizon, you will be offered a cup of traditional Bedouin tea — a moment of tranquility in the heart of the desert.

The main trail continues beyond the Siq, the Royal Tombs, the Colonnaded Street, and ends at Qasr Al-Bint (The Palace of the Maiden). Overnight in Amman.

This concludes your Petra This concludes your Weekend Tour to Petra, a journey through Jordan’s most iconic and breathtaking destinations.

For specific locations such as Jerash and Petra, you have the option to hire a certified local guide at the respective visitor's center (see local guides available at your chosen rate below). If you desire a professional guide to accompany you throughout your entire journey, we can make those arrangements for an additional cost. It is entirely optional, and guests have the choice to opt for the ride or not. However, please note that the fees are non-refundable, and they cannot be exchanged if not utilized. It's essential to be aware that the horse ride is not insured, and guests undertake it at their own risk and responsibility.
